Great news Splatoon fans! An upcoming update for the game will feature eight new weapons and will patch up some balancing issues!

Nintendo has shed some light on four of the weapons expected to drop in the update so far: the Wasabi Splattershot, Berry Splattershot Pro, Fresh Squiffer, and Permanent Inkbrush. With the other four weapons are expected to be revealed closer to the release of the update, which arrives in roughly 4 days.

Alongside some new weapons, the existing weapons are also receiving a number of modifications to provide more balance to the game. For example, player’s getting a special gauge (prior to the update) which was always reduced by 50 percent after getting splatted and respawning, however, the new update now changes the amount of the gauge and will be drained depending on the weapon wielded. While the choice of weapon also alter the swim speed, as playing with a heavier weapon will now decrease by 10%.

A full list of changes, including all the buffs and nerfs to various weapons, subs, and specials, can be found on Nintendo’s official website. On April 12th, the day the update is set to release, the servers will in fact go down for maintenance from 4:50 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. pacific time, however, players will be able to jump in and play with the new weapons by 7:00 p.m. Splatoon is available now exclusively for the Wii U.
