A couple of weeks ago at Wondercon, a panel was held for Hyrule Warriors Legends, which had producer Yosuke Hayashi and director Hiroya Usuda for the game discussing the development of the game, as well as some new characters. Unfortunately, if you weren’t at Wondercon to see the panel, you were most likely out of luck. Thankfully, Nintendo uploaded the entire panel for your viewing pleasure.

The video, which you can check out below, runs at a whopping 44 minutes, however, for fans of the Zelda series, it’s 44 minutes of pure nostalgia bliss. Though much of the news that was announced at this panel has already been talked about this point (such as Link’s Awakening’s Marin being playable), there was some discussion about the new characters that were introduced in Legends and how they played, such as Wind Waker’s Tetra and newly created character Linkle, with some cool concept art for the latter being shown off. In addition a short gameplay trailer showed off a new character: from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the harp wielding Rito Medli will be coming to the game. Unlike Marin, Medli will be free for all players when the first DLC pack goes live this summer.

I’ve always been a fan of videos like this, as I enjoy getting a behind the scenes look into how a game is made and in this case, what went into making each character feel unique and fun to play. Hyrule Warriors is available now exclusively for the Wii U, while Hyrule Warriors Legends is available now exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
