In a trailer leaked by SkyEagleGaming, supposedly meant for E3, the Battlefield: Hardline release date has been revealed as October 21st. The latest in the longstanding Battlefield franchise, Hardline is a stark detachment from the gritty wartime first person shooter and instead focuses on a more cops and criminals dynamic, showcasing more cinematic gameplay and a variety of squad based, tactical combat unlike the previous, army on army conflicts featured in the franchise. The trailer is structured much like teaser trailers previously seen at Sony’s E3 panels in the past, and hints at a full 5 minute multiplayer demo available at a later date.

Also unlike previous games in the series, Hardline is being led by Visceral Games, not DICE who had produced the entire series up until now. Visceral Games is responsible for the Dead Space series, and only time will tell what this means for what we can expect from this entry in the Battlefield franchise. The trailer goes on to state that Battlefield: Hardline will be available on PS4 as well as PS3, although previous reports confirm that it’ll be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC as well.

UPDATE:  Unfortunately, the leaked trailer was taken down — understandably so, as the trailer was intended for E3. Everyone is excited for this title to drop, and as much as we might more details right now the wait will have to endure until June 10th when the E3 festivities kick off!
