The latest trailer for the 2.3 content patch for the stellar Square-Enix MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn showcases a slew of the new content headed to the game in early July. The latest run of new content, 2.3 bridges the gap between this and the next big expansion set to come out later this year. While that patch brings new classes and more, this patch brings many new dungeons and gameplay modes for players new and old to experience and enjoy until the next major expansion patch.

  • Frontlines: The new PVP gameplay mode, Frontlines pits up to 72 players spread across three teams in combat for dominance over Carteneau Flats, their Allagan ruins, and all the secrets they hold.
  • Ramuh, the Lord of Levin: The latest primal to meet Eorzea in battle, Ramuh joins Leviathan, Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan as an elemental summoned by the forest sprites that players must do combat with. Wielding the power of lightning, Ramuh awaits players at The Striking Tree.
  • Side Story Quests: Making his return comes the beloved Hildebrand Manderville. Not much detail has been given regarding his new side quest chain, but we can expect it to be as comical as it always is.
  • Hunts: Also making its reveal are the Hunts, a series of monster hunting quests with bounties for adventurers to claim, should they be brave enough to slay the beasts in question.
  • Dungeons: New dungeons are also hitting the scene, including Hullbreaker Isle, as well as new hard modes for Stone Vigil and Tam-Tara Deepcroft.
  • Private Chambers: Private Chambers are also coming, available to Free Company houses for a fee. Players can customize these houses however they wish, and are a feature that has been teased for a long time coming.
  • Chocobo Raising: Also making its reveal are Chocobo Raising, and the ability to respec the skill points for Chocobo companions.
  • Desynthesis: Got some gear that’s too good to vendor, but not able to sell on the marketboard? Desynthesis will allow crafters to claim some materials back to make use of that equipment they don’t have use for.
  • New Recipes: New recipes were also revealed for crafters, allowing more late-game use in comparison to high-level dungeon gear.
  • Syrcus Dungeon: The latest addition to the Crystal Tower dungeon, Syrcus Tower takes players even deeper into the Labyrinth of the Ancients with a whole new slew of dungeons and bosses to test their might against.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 2.3 goes live on Tuesday, July 8th, with a welcome back campaign running July 11th through 14th. Check out the reveal trailer below!
