Steam’s Summer Sale has become a yearly mile mark for gamers across the globe, looking forward all year long to these few weeks. Many wait to play certain titles as they will be on sale during this time. The sales for this year were impressive with flash sales changing every 8 hours, and new sales daily. Of the estimated 75 million users, Steam frequently passed the 8 million mark as far as concurrent users go. This is not only a good thing for Steam, but for individual studios alike. Here is a list of the top 10 most played games in the past 24 hours:

  • Dota 2 – 775,279
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – 163,421
  • Team Fortress 2 – 78,227
  • Civilization V – 73,866
  • Football Manager 2014 – 71,083
  • Garry’s Mod – 64,383
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – 64,281
  • Payday 2 – 63,814
  • Borderlands 2 – 34,020
  • Counter-Strike – 31,730

That list includes five Valve titles, two free-to-play games, and a new title from this year. Valve’s extremely popular MOBA game, Dota 2, had over four times as many users as the number-two spot. This makes the Valve wallet very happy, and has brought the International Compendium prize-pot to exceed $10 million.

The Steam Summer Sale ends today, after 11 days of deals and flash sales.
