Fans of HBO’s hit show “Game of Thrones” were treated to a special Q&A panel on Friday at New York Comic Con. The panel featured a special appearance by Jerome Flynn, who plays Tyrion Lannister’s henchman, Bronn.

Bronn of the Blackwater is a sellsword, who was introduced in “Game of Thrones”. He is originally hired by Catelyn Stark to arrest and transport Tyrion Lannister to the Eyrie, and later joins Tyrion’s  service as a hired sword.

During the exciting panel, Flynn discussed Bronn’s development on the show and charmed the crowd with personal stories. He talked about auditioning for the show with a black eye, which he credits for landing the role of Bronn. He also mentioned a fight scene where he almost injured another actor on set earlier this year, though no names were named. It seems that they do use real swords on “Game of Thrones” after all! Flynn also revealed that he is a big fan of Maisie Williams, and is rooting for Team Arya.

In addition to his charming personal stories, Flynn also some season 4 spoilers. Flynn told the NYCC audience that viewers will get “quite a surprise” in season 4, since the storyline will diverge significantly from George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Fire & Ice.” HBO has followed George R.R. Martin’s popular book series fairly closely in the first three season of “Game of Thrones”. According to Flynn, season 4 could bring a major departure from the books. Since we still have a long wait ahead for season 4, time will tell how these changes sit with the “Game of Thrones” audience.
