Many PC video games are coming out this year, however with all your New Year’s resolutions still at large, there may only be a select few that will be worth the wait and the cash. With that being said, you better start saving up because you won’t want to miss these titles.

Thief (February 2014)

Thief-6

Playing as a stealthy man dressed in all black, Garrett returns to his old town only to find the rich living all too well for the horrible state of The City. Stealing from the rich to exploit them is Garrett’s number one goal here. So as you pile up those riches, make sure you keep Garrett in the shadows and try not to make too much noise.

The Elder Scrolls: Online (spring 2014)

Three alliances are at large in this massive open world and they are at war to gain control of Oblivion from the dark spirits that haunt it. Your job is to pick an alliance and to fight along with other online players. Beta testing is currently running, and while they still have a lot to work to do, if it is anything like Bethesda other games then surely a beautiful game will come out of it.

South Park: The Stick of Truth (March 4, 2014)

Being a new kid can be difficult, especially in South Park. Starting off as a pretend role playing game the kids of South Park quickly need to turn it into a real life one, and it is up to you to save them. Or else you will forever be known as the loser of South Park.

Dying Light (2014)

We all think we know what it’s like to be in a zombie apocalypse by now with all the zombie movies and games out, but Dying Light clearly wants us to rethink it all. During the day you can safely find food, survivors, and anything else you might need. However, once darkness hits you better be in your safe zone because all Hell is about to break loose. These zombies can sprint, jump, and climb and if that isn’t enough their damage is increased making them that much harder to kill. They have also created a new type of zombie that only comes out at night… but we’ll let you figure out how terrifying it is for yourself.

Watch Dogs (Spring 2014)

If you are already worried about the government hacking into everything you own and knowing everything about you, you should probably stay away from this game. Playing as Aiden Pearce, you can hack into any electronic device you want. The real question is whether or not you will hack for good or evil.

Routine (TBA 2014)

Routine

Something strange has happened in space… and that’s never good thing. This horror game follows around a survivor of the Lunar Research Station and it is up to him to figure out what caused the disappearance of the others. For a Steam Greenlight game, the graphics look fantastic and is definitely worth tracking.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (TBA 2014)

This pixilated shooter game that knows no boundaries is back again. Playing as Jacket, you must finish off the bastard that has been leaving mysterious messages on your phone. Or at least figure out what the Hell he wants.

Dark Souls 2 (March 11, 2014)

dark-souls-2

A beautiful yet chilling RPG will focus on a character with a curse. It is up to you to find a cure to this curse so that this soul can move on once and for all. It is said to pull the player into the game more emotionally than the first game, so as long as it doesn’t actually give the player this said curse we should be okay to play.

The Sims 4 (Fall 2014)

the-sims-4

Still going strong, The Sims are at it again! Talk of more realistic Sims and easier house builds are underway. Other than the basic story line of acting as God to either give your Sim a happy or miserable life, there will be better ways to connect your Sims to you and other Sims and it’s sure to take the series to new levels of awesomeness!

Octodad: Dadliest Catch (TBA 2014)

octodad-deadliest-catch

Playing as an octopus disguised as a dad there isn’t much more you can do other than try to act as normal as possible. Your kids and wife have no idea you’re an Octopus and it is your job to keep it that way. Octodad has to complete various tasks such as getting dressed, grocery shopping, and household chores. While you may think that being an Octodad is going to be easy since your family seems to be made up of a bunch of idiots; you may want to think again. This Octodad isn’t so good on his feet. Or with his hand. Or good with anything as a matter of fact.

If these games don’t want to make you throw your money into the hands of developers everywhere then I’m not sure what will. So keep your eyes peeled and keep your savings account fat, or you’re going to be the only one whose New Year’s resolution next year will be to play more video games.
