Among-the-Sleep

Announced at the Game Developer Conference (GDC) was the upcoming horror title “Among the Sleep” which sets the player in the body of a small child in a creepy house where the shadows may contain more than just darkness and poltergeist-like-activity await. Developers at Krillbite Studio are aiming to have the game released towards the end of 2013 in the fourth quarter and are planning to have a Kickstarter for the game launched this April.

Unsurprisingly, the unique perspective of that of a child is an interesting one, bringing a new sense of fear rarely seen before in horror games. The only other horror game I’m aware of that also puts gamers in a dark house with freaky things happening all around whilst being a small infant, is a small indie game named “Baby Blues” developed by Kumi at KGames, where the aim is simply to collect teddy bears.

“Among the Sleep” seems to be taking this concept and expanding it, with a much bigger area to explore, better graphics and an even creepier atmosphere with shocking jump scares to boot.
