Sunbreak Studios Announces Buddy & Me!
Sunbreak Studios’ founder Jason Behr has divulged that the company’s next game project is a 2D platform tilted Buddy & Me. Currently, the game is looking for funding on Kickstarter, and has reached almost a forth of its $40,000 goal.
The story follows a young boy who, when he falls asleep, goes through a complete transformation. A golden yellow light illuminates from his window, his whole bedroom seems to shake, and it feels like the whole house is being carried from the ground. The boy is startled awake only to find that what is waiting outside his window is none other than his best friend, and companion Buddy who is a magical flying creature. The two team up to take on the night by running, jumping, swinging, and gliding through the trees before the morning comes.
Nintendo asked Jason Behr if he had any intention of bringing Buddy & Me to the Wii U eShop, and though it’s a possibility nothing is in the works right now. Behr stated that he is “personally a fan of what the Wii U’s trying to bring to the living room console experience”, and that, “yes it’s a possibility if things are wildly successful.” It’s up to players to back the initial release of the iOS game, and with enough support gamers could see it on the Wii U eShop.
