“RoboCop” Release Date Pushed Back to 2014
It looks like we’ll all have to wait a little longer to check out that new RoboCop suit on the big screen.
Sony has moved the release dates of their two big, upcoming sci-fi movies. The “RoboCop” remake, which is currently in production, has been moved from August 9, 2013 to February 7, 2014, where it will compete against DreamWorks’ adaptation of the EA video game “Need for Speed” and Warners’ “Lego Movie”.
Meanwhile, “Elysium” has been moved from March 1, 2013 to RoboCop’s original time slot of August 9. “Elysium”, which stars Matt Damon, is the first film from director Neill Blomkamp since District 9. The reason for the date shuffling is not clear, but there has been some speculation about “RoboCop” possibly adding a 3D component. We’ll keep you posted.
