Nicholas Hoult, famous now in nerdom for his portrayal of the younger Hank McCoy aka Beast in X-Men First Class and X-Men Days of Future Past, may have just one more X-Men film in his future.

“This is the last one I’m signed up for,” Hoult told EOnline. He’s not necessarily opposed to doing more, but obviously much depends on the success and the reception of the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse.

“The first one did so well and [Days of Future Past] got received so brilliantly,” Hoult said. “It’s like, ‘Wow, people really want to see the films and the best thing is it’s a great crew and cast to work with and he’s a fun character. I have a good time playing him so I’d keep making them.”

Producer and co-writer Simon Kinberg has said that Apocalypse will include more of the relationship between Mystique and Beast. “…the relationship between Beast and Mystique is a really interesting one that we didn’t have a lot of time to explore in Days of Future Past, so we’ll have an opportunity to do more of that in Apocalypse,”

Bryan Singer is poised to direct X-Men Apocalypse which is expected in theaters May 27th, 2016.
