Before Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel became the humorous sidekick to one of Gotham’s most notorious criminals, the Joker, she was a psychiatric intern at the Arkham Asylum. She was a model student, in addition to receiving high grades in college, she was also a dedicated gymnast, winning a scholarship to Gotham City University. While researching the various lunatics at Arkham, she became fascinated with one particular inmate.
Ambitiously volunteering to analyze him, she pleaded with the doctors at Arkham for three months before she could treat him. After he gained her sympathy during their sessions, he seduced her, causing her to fall madly in love with him. After helping him escape from the asylum more than once Harley was suspected by the authorities, who then revoked her license and placed her in her own cell. During an earthquake in Gotham City, she fled and became Harley Quinn, the sidekick to the Clown Prince of Crime himself, the Joker.

From her sexy nurse outfit to her traditional jester outfit, cosplayers everywhere have immense fun donning the suit, overboard with the makeup and hair teasing, and chasing after her puddin’, the Joker. Canadian cosplayer, Stephanie van Rijn has put together a fierce Harley Quinn cosplay, with the half red and half black leather top and pants and her signature black eye makeup and lipstick. Don’t be fooled by this Harley. She may look sweet in the eyes, but Harley is not to be messed with.
