Japanese Latte Artist Recreates Popular Anime Characters
Falls is here, which means it is time to pull out the oversized sweaters, chilly nights, and crunchy leaves. Along with the cooler weather comes an excuse to drink excessive amounts of seasonal lattes. But is the traditional pumpkin spice a bit tired this year? Maybe salted caramel mocha simply is not cutting it? Well maybe your favorite anime character can bring back some of that fall magic!
Japanese University Entices Students With Anime Mascot
Japanese artist and coffee lover Sugi, who goes by Nowtoo on social media, dedicates her time to drawing anime characters and other favorites on top of lattes. With the help of an espresso machine, milk, and flavored syrups Nowtoo has perfected her art of creative drinks. Beginning in 2010 with simple sketches in the foam, she has moved on to full-color and even three-dimensional creations. She states that for a standard sketch it takes about five minutes, but anything with high detail and color can take her up to fifteen minutes.
With over one thousand cups of coffee transformed under her skillful hand, she has gained quite the following on Instagram and Twitter. Sugi has even gone to YouTube to showcase how she makes some of her delicious art.
