Lionsgate and Saban Brands’ push to bring the legendary color coded team of themed teenage fighters for peace and justice back to the big screen acquired two new key players in the project. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, probably best known as the screenwriters for X-Men: First Class and Thor have joined to re-envision the mighty morphin’ team.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roberto Orci of Transformers, Amazing Spiderman and Star Trek is also helping write the film. Incidentally, Miller and Stentz both previously worked with Orci writing for Fox’s supernatural television series Fringe.

With such a well-known and beloved property it’s good to know that Lionsgate are getting certainly experienced writers to pen the screenplay for the first power rangers feature film in a while. I can’t wait to see what a contemporary martial arts/megazord movie will look like.
