Phillip Seymour Hoffman is well-known for his many amazing roles, including those in “Doubt”, “Moneyball” and “The Ides of March”. Both a family man with three kids and an outstanding performer, it is sad to say that he is no longer around to entertain us with his astonishing performances. With his passing, there has been speculation about the role he plays in the “Hunger Games” saga, and if they would write his character off and adjust it accordingly or attempt some other measures.

We now know that the filmmakers will spend the extra money and continue Hoffman’s role digitally as Plutarch Havensbee, the renowned gamesmaker. With about a week left in filming at the time of his passing, Hoffman still had one major scene to film for the second part to “Mockingjay”. It was either spend the money, or cut his last, pivotal scene.

Lionsgate commented on the matter, “You can do digital things, you can have conversations where you’re not focusing on him but the people he’s talking to.”

“Mockingjay Part 2″ should not see a change from its current release date of November 2015. Honestly, the digital recreation may be a good thing and a great honor to Hoffman’s friends, family, co-workers and fans. Let us know your thoughts on the CGI re-creation of Philip Seymour Hoffman in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2″.
