Evangeline Lilly in Talks to Play Lead Role in “Ant-Man”

According to Variety, Marvel is in negotiations with Evangeline Lilly for the female lead in their upcoming “Ant-Man” film.

Lilly is reportedly in “early talks” to play an undisclosed role in the Edgar Wright superhero movie. If Lilly joins the cast, she will star alongside Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Michael Douglas (Dr. Henry Pym) and Michael Pena.

“It is unclear who Lilly would be playing, though some insiders say she would play Pym’s (Douglas) daughter and Lang’s love interest,” reports Variety. “Pym didn’t have a daughter in the comics but [Ant-Man screenwriters Joe] Cornish and Wright could certainly have switched things up in their version by giving him one.”

Ant-Man is scheduled to begin filming this April for a big screen release in July 17, 2015.
