Marvel’s phase 3 is a ways away and, to be honest, there is some news about a potential new film that could be one of the bigger headliners. While “Doctor Strange” and “Black Panther” could be contenders for the epic line-up, “Thor 3”, “Captain America 3” and now a new possible sequel, “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” are looking to be likely additions to Marvel’s calendar.

JoBlo has reported that the follow-up to “Guardians of the Galaxy” could be premiering on May 6, 2016, though the date has not been officially connected to anything Marvel related up to this point. But the date could have a conflict with an upcoming Warner Bros. film – “Batman vs. Superman”. Battle of the comics, step right up!

No Stan Lee Cameo in “Guardians of the Galaxy”

Marvel has not made an official announcement about a GOTG sequel, but it seems to be a no-brainer along with “Thor 3” and “Captain America 3”, an “Iron Man 4”. Right now, the line-up is “Ant-Man” on July 17, 2015, “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” on May 6, 2016. “Thor 3” and “Captain America 3” on July 8, 2016 or May 5, 2017.  For those wanting more, Marvel has a film schedule mapped out dated out until 2021. Could this mean an “Avengers 3”?

“Guardians of the Galaxy” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Glenn Close, Benicio Del Toro, John C. Reilly and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. The film hits theaters on August 1, 2014.
