Respawn Entertainment has revealed even more information in regards to its latest project, Titanfall. Just last week it was unveiled that this upcoming first-person-shooter will be receiving a new map, mode, and perks. The map, Boneyard, takes place in a desert setting amidst engineering facility ruins. Huge creatures guard the edge of the map, prevented from entering the battlefield with ‘dog-whistle like apparatuses’. Scattered throughout the map are the remains of these creatures, which create an ideal location for players to perch atop and snipe, or even hide within. Additionally, soaring high above the map are flying creatures which can swoop down and pester your enemies at any given time.

“Boneyard is a little more friendly to Titans,” says Respawn Entertainment lead artist Joel Emslie. “The scale cues and the stuff you can take cover on is a little more Titan focused. There are areas that you’d want to wall run on as a Titan are more in the bowels of Boneyard. It has some really nice spots where a Pilot can really get the drop on a Titan. These big hallways where the Pilot can hide up in the girders and get down on the Titan. But it also has some really kick-ass spots for the longer shooting game of Titanfall where you can use these marksman weapons. There are these cracks in crevices where you can ambush Titans and jump off a rock down here and get on top of one.”

The new mode featured the game is called Last Man Standing. Within this mode, it pits teams of six players against one another, where they both begin in the cockpit of their Titans, and must destroy all of the opposing team’s machines. What also was revealed was the new Burn Card system. In this system, it allows players to use ‘burn cards’, which are one-time perks that can be used in any match. Players will have the ability to unlock up to three different Burn Card slots, and can earn the cards over the course of each game. Burn Cards can include, but are not limited to: increased Pilot movement speed, decreased cooldown on Titans, as well as powerful anti-Titan weaponry. Any Burn Cards that players activate will remain active in a match, until the next time of death.
