‘Man of Steel’ New Superman Movie Trailer Released

We are getting our first look at the trailer for the new Superman movie, “Man of Steel” which is currently in production. The film, which is directed by Zack Snyder (“Watchmen” and “300”), is slated for release on June 14, 2013. The cast includes Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Michael Shannon (General Zod), and Russell Crowe (Jor-El). Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play Superman’s adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.

According to Snyder, “Man of Steel” is not just a rehashing of previous Superman films. It will be a completely new approach to the popular story, with a darker and grittier tone. We also see a major (and dare we say, awesome?) restyling of Superman’s wardrobe. Say goodbye to the underwear-over-tights look!

The basic plot points remain the same: Clark Kent is a young journalist who, as a child, was sent to Earth from the dying planet Krypton. Rasied by his wholesome adoptive parents in rural Kansas, Clark is alienated from others because of his super powers, and struggles to find his place in the world. When the world is attacked by evil villains, Clark must become Superman to save its people.
