SDCC 2014: Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Announced with Official Release Date

Guardians of the Galaxy hasn’t released quite yet and news came out of the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic Con that there is definitely a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on the way and it already has an official release date. Both Chris Pratt – who plays Starlord in the film, and director James Gunn announced during the tail end of the panel that a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would be on the way. That means more Gamora, more Groot, and more Rocket.

Not only that, but it was confirmed that Gunn would be coming back to both write and direct the second installment into the Guardians of the Galaxy series. The wait might be a bit grueling, however, seeing as Guardians of the Galaxy 2 won’t hit theaters until July 28th, 2017. For now, fans will be able to get their fill when the first movie releases on August 1st.
