I mean, it can’t last forever right? On the other hand, they’ve made 24 James Bond movies over more than 50 years and they’re still coming. Disney has much more story telling potential to squeeze out of Star Wars and Marvel than just one avatar of globetrotting superspy.
So what are their long term plans for the two mega franchises? Disney Chairman Bob Iger recently spoke to Newsbeat about just that.
We already know about Episodes 8 and 9, Rogue One and the Han Solo Anthology film. “There will be more after that,” says Iger, “I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”
Boba Fett? Boba Fett? WHERE?!
The Marvel cinematic Universe is already pretty big with a plausible end game point in Infinity War, but it seems as though that won’t be the last of the MCU. “Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever.”
That would be the, We have no reason not to milk this character constellation cash cow for all it’s worth, kind of forever.
