When Skylanders SuperChargers was released back in September Nintendo hooked in a deal with Activision to release some exclusive Bowser and Donkey Kong Amiibo/Skylanders 2-in-1 figures. Unfortunately the only way to get them both was to buy both the 3DS and Wii U Starter Packs at launch, that is, until now.
Thankfully, it seems that there are plans to sell them separately so that players can complete their amiibo collections without having to buy two different games. The exclusive Hammer Slam Bowser will be packaged with his Clown Cruiser ship vehicle and the Turbo Charge Donkey Kong figure will be coupled with his Barrel Blaster vehicle. They will both be priced the same for $24.99 USD. The dark variants of these figures are still exclusive to the starter packs though.
The Skylanders can also double as amiibos for use with certain Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games. The Skylanders will also only work exclusively on Nintendo systems.
