New The Evil Within Screen Shots!

Besthesda strikes again, and this time they are coming at gamers with a survival horror game. Directed by Shinji Mikami, who is seen as the founding father of survival horror, The Evil Within is guaranteed to either make you piss your pants, or scream like a little girl. With beautifully crafted surroundings, evil lurking around every corner, and a well put together story gamers are sure to be pleased with Bethesda’s next project. The only suggestion offered in regards to this game is to make sure you keep the lights on, and have an extra pair of underwear handy.

Placed in the role of Detective Sebastian, players are brought to a scene where a mass murder has occurred, and an evil threat is looming. Police officers are slaughtering one and other, and in the midst of it Sebastian is knocked unconscious. When he comes to, he finds himself in a world that has been taken over by terrifying monsters, and must fight his way through in order to try and make sense of it all. Sebastian must contend against his worst fears, and survive what is waiting in the shadows.

The Evil Within is slated to release sometime next year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and next generation consoles. Check out the screen shots, and trailer below. They’ll be sure to hold you over until the game makes its appearance, and scare the wits out of you.
