After the huge leak with the release of the Mechromancer DLC, Gearbox has come forward and officially confirmed Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty is the first downloadable expansion for Borderlands 2.
The Captain Scarlett DLC will be set in the new bandit filled area of Oasis. Gearbox Software’s President Randy Pitchford, described the new location as a dried-up landscape “more like Tatooine than an ocean.” Along with the new location, there will be a new Sand Skiff vehicle, new heads, a new currency called seraph crystals and a new rarity.
Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty will be released next week on October 16 and will be priced at $9.99 (800 MS Point). It is the first of four downloadable expansions and is included if you are an owner of the Borderlands 2 Season Pass which gains you all four expansions for $29.99.
