At this year’s World of Capcom panel at WonderCon 2015 in sunny Anaheim, California, Francis Mao and project managers from around the company came together to give us a curated recap of the carious projects that came to us from Capcom this year, as well as some information as to what we can expect to see in the months to come.

First up for the World of Capcom, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS. Monster Hunter is a franchise with a massive following in Japan, but never really took off in the states. That is until now, with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate being the most successful Monster Hunter entry stateside ever. To keep the hype train running, the team announced plans for upcoming DLC coming every 1st Friday of every month.

Not only do they have plans for an extensive library of DLC on the horizon, they were also proud to underline what Monster Hunter faithful already know, that each DLC package is coming to fans absolutely free of charge. On the near calendar includes DLC crossovers with Metroid, Animal Crossing, Devil May Cry, and more, so if you haven’t checked out the best Monster Hunter experience yet, now may be just time to get three friends together, and take down some monsters.

Next up on the agenda, Devil May Cry fans will be glad to know that Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is getting closer by the day. Not much in the way of new info came to light, with the DmC Definitive Edition package already on store shelves and the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition on the horizon, the team did note that in addition to Devil May Cry 4’s new features such as three new playable characters (Vergil, Lady, and Trish), 1080p resolution at a silky smooth 60FPS, and the Legendary Dark Knight mode, there’s even more that’s set to be announced in the upcoming months leading up to the upcoming release. Stay tuned for more info.

Resident-Evil-Revelations-2-

Resident Evil took the stage after that, with news of the HD remaster of the Gamecube version of the game that started it all. Nothing new in terms of info, as the game is already on store shelves, but definitely a reminder that if you haven’t experienced this excellent update to a timeless classic, now is the perfect time. The Resident Evil Revelations 2 Retail Version also hit the scene, with the package including all four episodes and a ton of DLC, all conveniently priced at only $40.

Stepping into the realm of live action, Capcom also highlighted their recently released Dead Rising Watchtower, the live action tie in film to Capcom’s long standing survival horror comedy series Dead Rising. With Capcom on hand to help guide the film as close to the original source material as possible, director Zach Lipovsky held nothing back combining the acting efforts of Jesse Metcalf, Rob Riggle, Meghan Ory, Virginia Madsen, and Dennis Haysbert to craft a funny, action packed film with everything we love from the Dead Rising games. The film is available now, on Crackle.com, free of charge. So be sure to check it out.

But Capcom faithful, I hear what you must be asking, and do not fret, because the Capcom staff gave us a small idea on what we can expect from E3 this year, namely that they’ll be bringing a lot of new info and reveals about the fifth numbered installment in the monumental fighting game behemoth, Street Fighter V. With the news of longtime fan favorite Nash making his return, we’re poised to see plenty of him in action, and maybe even something more coming along the way. Only time will tell for certain, but we can be sure that whatever info we get, it’ll be worth the wait.

That about wraps it up for the World of Capcom panel at WonderCon 2015, plenty of recapping stuff fans may have missed from earlier in the year, and a look forward at a very exciting horizon. Stay tuned as we’re sure to get a ton more info come E3 time in June.
