The Borderlands series is one of my personal favorite video game franchises of all time. Not only does the game feature epic, intense combat sequences, a plethora of guns to discover, and a vast wasteland to explore, but it also has hilarious, lovable characters that make the game that much more entertaining. One of those characters is the Siren, Maya, who many cosplayers have taken quite a liking to.

In the Borderlands world there are specially endowed beings referred to as Sirens. With tattoos running down one side of their body, they have access to incredible abilities. So great is their power that only six Sirens can exist at the same time. One of these Sirens is Maya, the blue haired beauty hailing from Athenas. There she trained in secret with the brothers of the Order of the Impending Storm. After realizing they were only using her as a tool to gain control over the people, she left to Pandora to find out more about her roots as a Siren.

Maya is a Borderlands 2 playable character with mysterious powers. These powers are those of the Siren. Sirens are distinguished by the intricate tattoos that run down only one half of their body. Maya was given as an infant to the Order of the Impending Storm where she trained her Siren powers until adulthood. Then the Order revealed her presence and announced her as savior of the people. When Maya realizes that she is being used to control the people, she kills her handler and heads out to learn more about her Siren lineage and background.
