Harley Quinn, previously named Harleen Quinzel, won over our hearts in her first appearance on Batman: The Animated Series episode “The Joker’s Favour”. Since then her character and likeability has grown and she is now one of the most popular Batman villains. Her life dramatically changed when she started working at Arkham Asylum and met The Joker. She became fixated on him and it didn’t take long for The Joker to succeed in seducing Harleen. She fell hopelessly in love with him, leading her to aid him in his escape from Arkham. But after helping him escape several times, Harleen was caught out and locked up at the asylum herself.
She managed to escape Arkham and became The Joker’s side-kick and girlfriend. She adopted her new name Harley Quinn and took on a jester inspired outfit to match her beloved Clown Prince of Crime. While The Joker is callous and insane, he does deep down have feelings for Harley which is why she has always stuck by his side. Her story from then, takes on many twists and turns but no matter how much they clash, Harley is always by her Puddin’s side.
From then, Harley has appeared in many comics such as Gotham City Sirens as well as more episodes of Batman: The Animated Series. Her more recent appearances though are that in video games such as Batman: Arkham Asylum. In Batman: Arkham Asylum she is again The Joker’s partner in crime and aids him in letting the other inmates free along with his hopeful plan of defeating The Dark Knight. She adopts a new outfit yet nevertheless keeps her spirited, yet mad individuality.
Here Ana S Bertola, an Argentinian cosplayer, captures this Harley nurse outfit perfectly, showing her personality through her smile and posture. The work and effort put into this cosplay is so easily seen. It looks as if Harley has stepped out of the video game and into the real world. The detailing on the accessories and boots are impeccable and the whole outfit is flawless. Harley’s makeup is unblemished and her hair is immaculate. Along with her cane prop and Joker background, this cosplay is accurate, sexy and just what the doctor ordered.
