Valve announced today that the latest beta update to the Steam client will allow gamers preload games to any directory they wish. Before this update, Steam could only preload titles to the home of a user’s Steam Library, which generally ends up in a computer’s C: drive. That meant that any players who would rather have their titles to a secondary drive were unable to take advantage of the preloading feature. However, this update makes it possible for gamers to choose which folders they would like their titles to be preloaded from.
In addition, the update also came with a library section that will allow for users to browse and manage their captured screenshots, as well as look through the captured screenshots of other players that were put into Steam’s Big Picture mode. Lastly, fine tuning was done to the In-Home Streaming that will permit the ability to toggle windowed mode and resize the window.
