The last time we heard about Destiny 2, Activision had said that the game is set to release in 2017. Today, Activision reaffirmed that is still the plan, with the game expected to release in 2017.

The news comes from Activision’s earning reports, which today revealed that, among other things, the game is set to release sometime in 2017. “Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth,” reads a bullet point on the report. And that’s pretty much it. No release date, no news on when we can see. Just that it’s coming out in 2017 at some point.

Okay yeah, it’s not much to work on, but it’s still nice to see Activision let us know that’s coming, even though there’s no official release date for it. Still, 2017 is still pretty young, and there are a ton of rumors about the game swirling around, including a PC version and brand new engine. We’ll know for sure more about the Destiny 2 sometime this year, but for now, you can get your fix by playing the original, which is out now for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
