Marvel's Ant-Man Movie

Will Ant-Man Footage Show at Comic-Con?

Will this year’s Comic-Con include special footage from the Ant-Man test reel?

The status of Marvel’s Ant-Man has been a closely guarded secret for many years now. Now, however, it seems that the film may finally be moving forward. Director Edgar Wright has reportedly just finished a test reel for the film. Wright also co-wrote the screenplay for the film, along with Joe Cornish (The Adventures of Tintin).

Such test reels, which were previously been used by such prominent filmmakers as Zack Snyder (Watchmen) and Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy),offer a way for the studio to evaluate the direction and the vision for a project, presumably with the hopes of getting the budget green light.

Ant-Man tells the story of Hank Pym, a scientist who develops a method to shrink himself and to control his army of ants with a special helmet.

Comic-Con Hall H panels are notorious for their tendency to show clips from upcoming movies, so the timing for Ant-Man footage would be perfect if Marvel decides to share it in San Diego next month. Wright has said that he would like to begin shooting in 2013 after he finishes production on The World’s End, starring Nick Frost and Simon Pegg.

Ant-Man is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters November 6th, 2015.
